Greek Fire is the strongest and most secret weapon of the Byzantine empire. The origins and materials to make Greek fire are lost. This weapon put fear into all the enemies of the Byzantines. At this time, no one had a weapon or fire as strong as the Byzantine did, and no one knew how to stop it. This weapon was commonly used to burn navel ships trying to attack the empire. The Byzantines were using many long range weapons for its army. The Bow was inspired by the late Roman empire which was inspired by the Huns. The bows were up to 125 cm in length and fired arrows that were 70 cm in length.This weapon was mainly used on cavalry/horseback or sometimes on foot. This weapon transformed the way they fought in warfare from their previous empire Rome. Each bundle of would have between 30 to 60 arrows in it.

The Spathion was the main offence weapon for the Byzantine. This sword was used often during the first millennium. This long sword (90 cm) was first used by the Romans. The Romans didn't see much use of this weapon as the Byzantines did. This weapon became a standard for heavy infantry. This weapon would soon replace the Gladius becuase of its longer reach and ability to cause more damage.
